Continuing our Twelve Days of Breathtaking Builds, we present our Day Two offering of our favorite builds from 2015, a blacked-out Argonaut laid-up by one of America's foremost carbon manufacturers.
Built to conquer the high mountains of Colorado, this custom stealthy Argonaut has one purpose: Stealing KOMs. But uphills aren't its only forte, it was designed to be a livable, everyday carbon bike, holding lines on fast downhills like a bike outweighing it by a couple kilos or more. Frame details are what sets this Bend-born wunderbike off. The raw layup, left visible under the clearcoat and black-on-black decals, show the painstaking amount of work and engineering that goes into a custom carbon bike. The svelte mechanical Campagnolo Super Record group is mated to sub-1000g Lightweight Meilenstein Obermayer tubular hoops, making punchy ascents easy work. Capping off the build, our signature Fi'z:ik carbon cockpit, including the peerless 00 Antares saddle and 00 handlebars.
Be ready for Day Three, we don't think you'll want to miss an undiscovered Italian gem in the collection!
