In the third episode of ‘Out of the Saddle’, a film series featuring riders in the Above Category community and the dream bikes we build for them, cyclist, environmental activist and famed A&R man Jordan Harris looks back on a life in motion.
From signing some of the world’s biggest acts as the co-founder and chairperson of Virgin Records US to innovating activism by combining music and celebrity to effect change at the ballot box, racing cars to notable success, and bringing a daring renewable energy idea to California’s aging canals, Harris has always followed his own path.
The truth is, whatever you read about Jordan Harris’s life and career is only ever half the story. And in our latest episode of ‘Out of the Saddle’, Jordan talks candidly about how the act and motion of riding his bike helped fuel the creativity behind the many lives of his career and initiatives like Rock the Vote, Green Car to the Red Carpet, and the Solar Aquagrid project.
“The way I work best is to get out of your mind a bit, and not be stuck,” says Jordan during the film’s opening sequence. Aboard his custom Above Category Pinarello Dogma and in the driving seat of his classic Jaguar, the man who responsible for signing acts such as Ben Harper, Simple Minds, The Smashing Pumpkins and Paula Adbul talks candidly about music, effecting change, and how the call of the environment led him to leave his racing career in the rearview mirror.
