Overview:

Above Category is hiring a Buyer who is detail-oriented, innovative, and resourceful to work with other passionate creatives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

This role is for the person who is interested in contributing to the development, sourcing selection, and delivery of products sold in our distinct retail concept and through our online property. Overall, Buyer responsibilities include being the primary interface between manufacturers, vendors and our own internal sales & service teams. This includes developing and supporting vendor relationships, tracking purchasing and production of goods (primarily, but not limited to all the moving parts involved in producing fully built custom bikes). A portion of the role consists in fulfilling online orders.

Our Buyer is dedicated to delivering excellence from the perspective of ensuring appropriate back stock of frequently sold items, plus timely ordering, and maintenance of a clear arrival timeline of items ordered to build custom bikes. This may sometimes involve creative sourcing of such items, or alternatives, as needed. Our buyer is also in charge of physically receiving and stocking the goods in our store. As part of our team, the Buyer supports and executes day to day operations of order processing, inventory, logistics, shipping and receiving while maintaining strong relationships with our partners. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the ordering, transportation and delivery of product between our manufacturers, vendors, customers, and internal teams
  • Maintain clear scheduling of parts ordering and arrival in order to provide sales with reliable timelines to manage customer delivery expectations
  • Includes thorough knowledge of parts compatibility and maintaining up-to-date pricing in our inventory management system (both wholesale cost and retail pricing)
  • Receive product from vendors and enter inventory information into LightSpeed adhering to specific procedures and protocols
  • Assist with back stock and inventory procedures and protocols ensuring that inventory is accurate, secure, and organized
  • Track product being returned to vendors and ensure timely processing
  • Assess accuracy of shipments from vendors and coordinate resolution with vendors when errors are identified
  • Aid in improving product intake, product return, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Assist with online order fulfillment, including preparing and packaging customer orders

Specific Qualifications

  • Experience with inventory/supply chain/production in a retail, eCommerce, or product company preferred
  • Strong computer skills with advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Lightspeed Retail a plus
  • Interested in use of productivity/project management tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through and a focus on execution
  • Ability to maintain organization and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a flexible environment.

Compensation

Commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position.

FLOOR SALES & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Overview:

Are you a driven sales person who is obsessive about cycling? This role is for the person who has a proven retail sales track record and is looking for an opportunity to join a high-performance, results-oriented, socially-conscious culture. This is a business-building career opportunity.

We are looking for a floor sales person to greet, get to know, and serve as guide to our clients as they familiarize themselves with how Above Category can make their experience with cycling more enjoyable and fulfilling, from dressing correctly for varied weather, to selecting the right bike, to knowing where to ride and with whom. In this position you are our front-line with clients whom either walk through the door, call-in or purchase online. Your product specialty will be our clothing & soft goods. Your follow up with clothing purchasers is key to building long-term client relationships. You are also in charge of assessing interest in bike purchases or other AC services, and guiding the client to the appropriate team member. Our team members are extremely supportive of one another and we foster an environment that prizes personal growth.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position is about driving revenue to the company, and upholding the AC brand.

  • Staff the retail floor as first-in-line greeter 5 days per week
  • Cleanliness of displays and clear/complete/attractive merchandising
  • Follow daily opening and closing procedures
  • Sell clothing and other soft goods
  • Serve as liaison for Sales & Service
  • Reorder front-of-the-house inventory (in coordination with Operations & Service)
  • Customer service outreach to both in-store and online clothing purchasers

 

Requirements

  • Be more than passionate about cycling: be obsessive about the sport
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent sales experience, preferably in high-end retail
  • Amazing communicator with the power to influence people
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve goals
  • Desire to live and be the brand’s message in your own approach to the sport of cycling Fastidious in attention to detail
  • Comfort with MSFT Excel

Compensation

Commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position.
