This week's featured build is a cool bike for a great client and his third Pegoretti in nearly sixteen years. His first was a Love #3, his second, a Responsorium with rim brakes, and the latest and the subject of this featured build, a 62cm disc-equipped Responsorium with full Ciavete artwork treatment.
To start with the art - while Ciavete is Pegoretti's 'surprise me' option, the client did offer a base color he liked, with an additional request to have some of the frame's Columbus stainless steel tubing showing through in certain areas (downtube towards the bottom bracket etc.). This bike is a telling example of how Pegoretti does a good job of balancing the client's needs with the integrity of its Ciavete art, which by its very nature is a unique piece created by Pegoretti and a surprise until the client first sees the frame.
Our client still has and rides his other Pegs, but this time, he wanted to try the (relatively) new disc editions that Pegoretti has created. The brand's Responsorium is a perennial favorite of ours because it balances responsiveness, comfort, and stiffness in a way that keeps you coming back for more. It's awesome.
The Respo's wheels come via Lightweight and its Pfadfinder EVO Disc offering paired to 30c tires. A Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset connects the dots, enhanced with Ceramicspeed's OSPW. Cockpit controls come via a Black Inc stem and a Bjorn Glagol seatpost. Also, from Bjorn, a Lapka + computer mount.
