S-Works
The S-Works program began in the early nineties as an internal research and development program for Specialized Bicycles focused on racing products. The debut S-Works product was the 1992 S-Works Epic, a 2.6-pound frame raced by "The Captain" Ned Overend made from a futuristic combination of carbon fiber tubing and TIG welded junctures. Then, in the early noughties, the S-Works program moved into the road world with the S-Works E5 road bike, and roadies everywhere lost their collective minds
