Ceramicspeed
Inline skating has a lot in common with cycling. Yes, there's the lycra, but also aerodynamics and that eternal enemy of locomotion: friction. In 1998, Ceramicspeed founder Jacob Csizmadia broke the world record for 24hr inline skating by equipping his skates with ceramic ball bearings. Two years later, he introduced them to cycling (the bearings, not the skates) before taking his tech to the Tour de France for the first time in 2001 during his tenure at Team CSC. Trophies were won, and soon after, Ceramicspeed started producing hybrid bearings in Holstebro, Denmark, for both sports and industrial applications.
