Worth Repeating: The Bubblegum 911
Sarto Raso

Chris Goodhue |

The most compelling builds aren’t always new ideas. When our client asked for a “sister” Bubblegum 911 X Sarto Raso build, it was worth repeating.

Our previous Bubblegum 911 X Sarto Raso has come to define a proper AC build—automotive inspiration, high-precision custom frame-building, and no-compromise components. This sister build, commissioned for the client’s female business partner, follows the same ethos: a top-tier blend of aesthetics, performance, and comfort.

Inspired by Gunther Werks, a California-based automotive restoration and customization studio, the Bubblegum 911 frame wears a unique shade of pink that feels confident without excess. The Sarto team nailed the design. From the exact color match to the subtle black accents, they distilled the character of the car without making it feel forced. While this bike undoubtedly draws attention on the road, it’s the restraint and design decisions that become evident after the first glance.

Unlike the “brother” bike, the cockpit sports a Black Inc bar/stem to suit the rider’s smaller size. The Alcantara bar tape, custom-painted stem and bars, and tighter overall cockpit result in a clean, composed setup that encourages speed while remaining comfortable and confidence-inspiring. To mirror the 911’s interior, the Form saddle was wrapped in Alcantara with pink stitching—a small detail that underscores the intent behind these builds.

The true beauty of a custom build goes beyond eye-catching aesthetics and lives in the geometry. The smaller frame size required a slight tweak in fit, maintaining an aggressive riding position without crossing into punishment. The Raso strikes balance better than most, consistently providing an efficient, performance-focused ride that still feels intuitive for day-to-day riding.

This is a proper AC build—rolling on Partington wheels and wrapped with René Herse Stampede Pass tires. Ultra-light, stiff, and responsive, the ride quality is exceptionally smooth, what Chad simply describes as "riding on silk."

The drivetrain is composed of SRAM Red wireless and elevated with a full CeramicSpeed treatment—UFO derailleur pulleys, bottom bracket, headset, and wheel bearings. Finishing the build are 5DEV cranks in LSD matte black, a California-based component choice that stays true to the Gunther Werks inspiration.

The result is fast, refined, and one, or in this case, two-of-a-kind. A build that seamlessly blends automotive legacy, Italian craftsmanship, and quiet details we value as a custom bike studio. The only downside is not having all three builds here at once.
