So far it’s a solo ride.

BOTW: Bubblegum 911 X Sarto Raso

Chad Nordwall |

We started this one back in February, and let’s just say it got out of hand in the best possible way. The client? A name we can’t say out loud, but turns some heads in the right circles. The brief? Build a no-compromise road bike that captures the spirit of his favorite car — a “Bubblegum Pink” Gunther Werks Porsche 911 — and make it ride as fast as it looks.

The color is what stops you. Based on the Gunther Werks Bubblegum 993 paint spec, it’s a unique tone of pink that somehow feels both subtle and bold. It’s not quite bright and yet more vibrant than the ‘Pink Pig’ Porsche livery. Sarto nailed the match, down to the black and pink accent balance.

It’s tough translating automotive finishes onto a bike, but their design team managed to distill the vibe of the car—without making it feel like a gimmick.

We tweaked the geometry just slightly to maintain clean lines. He’s got flexibility to grow into a slightly lower position over time, so we allowed for some adjustability under the stem. Visually, the smaller frame size paired with the spacer stack keeps it sharp while keeping the ride position aggressive but not punishing.

Component-wise, this is a proper AC build. SRAM Red wireless with Hope four-piston calipers and rotors for maximum control. Cranks are 5Dev, paired with a Quarq power meter. Every rotating surface—from hubs to bottom bracket to pulleys—got the full Ceramicspeed treatment.

Wheels are Lightweight Fernwegs, which match the bike’s speed-focused ethos without compromising ride feel. To soften the edges, we wrapped them in Rene Herse Orondo Grade Extralights. Add Pirelli TPU tubes and you’ve got a top-tier blend of performance and comfort.

For the touch points, we went full-custom. The one-piece bar/stem and seatpost are Sarto’s own. The saddle? A Bjorn cork base, re-covered in black Alcantara with pink stitching by Mick Peel of Busyman, to match the Porsche interior. Same goes for the bar tape. The pedals are ultralight Looks—no nonsense, just business.

The result is fast and refined. A bike that encourages speed but doesn’t punish you for chasing it. Built for the road, and made to move fast. Maybe you’ll see it around.
