With the start of the MotoGP season kick off just weeks away, it's only fitting that we share a build inspired by the high horse powered super bikes. While it might lack an engine, and likely won't be ridden wearing full leathers, this Sarto Seta road bike is packing no shortage of full throttle performance details. Follow along as we dive in to the build.
Old school fades have been enjoying some time in the spotlight lately, but Velocolour has been taking that to the next level. In this case, they've gone for a complex geometric half-tone gradients. The red and blue are an interpretation from the Red Bull logo, as inspired by the Tech 3 KTM MotoGP bike.
While the paint job is pure fire, don't forget what lies beneath. The Seta model sits between the feather weight Asolo and full aero Lampo in the Sarto range, making it the perfect all around road machine. Smooth on the pave, stiff for the sprints, and light for the climbs. Like all Sartos, this Seta is 100% custom, hand made to order.
The control center up front is made up of an Enve compact road handlebar, matched with a Zipp SL Speed carbon stem. At the back side, a Deda Superleggera seatpost holds onto a Fizik Arione VS EVO 00 saddle. The custom paint matching on the stem and seatpost help clean up and tie together the mix of brands. Lastly, the stock compression plug has been swapped for an EE. Easy yet often overlooked way to shave weight, and providing that extra little bit of trick.
The bike rolls on pair of Cadex 42 wheels. An absolutely fantastic riding wheel set, largely thanks to its proprietary carbon fiber spokes. As you can see, they're the rim brake version and are set up with Cadex's own 25c tubeless tires. Light, aero, and they corner like they're on rails—what's not to love?
The drivetrain on this bike is really something special. While the kit is predominantly comprised of Shimano Di2, the Dura-Ace gruppo is just the starting point. The standard DA crank was subbed for an SRM Origin power meter, which spins on a Ceramicspeed bottom bracket. The Shimano brakes, while fantastic, have been replaced by a set of super light EE stoppers. Finally, the DA rear mech has also gone under the knife, loosing it's stock cage and pulley to make way for a Ceramicspeed OSPW system. Not just any set of OSPWs, but the 3D printed titanium ones at that. Time Xpro pedals marry the driveline to the ride.
We'll just leave this here...
