An even more capable follow up to the brand's supremely successful all-roader, the U.P. More tire clearance. More rad. More better. Read more
Since its inception, the Open U.P. has reigned as the pinnacle of do-all gravel bikes. With its clean, minimalist lines, substantial tire clearance, and perfectly balanced geometry, the U.P. (and its even lighter sibling, the U.P.P.E.R.) quickly prevailed as one of our favorite bikes to ride. Naturally, it proved to be one of our best selling models, too.
As time went on, though, and riders got used to running bigger tires, pushing the limits of riding "road bikes" on rugged terrain, the desire for something more quickly followed. That desire resulted in Open's latest offering that you see here, the all new WI.DE.
Carrying over everything we loved about the existing U.P., the WI.DE. can fit up to a 2.4" tire (on a 27.5") rim with hardly a change to the chainstay length. The head tube gets a little hight, making it a little easier to ride comfortably in the drops while railing gnarlier terrain. There's also a few extra bottle and accessory mounts, making it easy to carry all your adventure gear with you on a backcountry adventure.
Whether you’re already set on a certain make and model of frame, or still have some questions about how to go about your build, drop us a line and we can talk through your options. From the first detail to the final finish, we'll help you dial in the perfect set up for your next dream bike.
Nimble and planted, no matter how technical the trail gets. I ride mine with 700x45c tires and it's like having a mini 29'er rocket ship - I haven't felt a need for a hardtail since! Be it for all out gravel racing or deep back country adventuring, the Open WI.DE is the perfect companion.
