When we think of handbuilt bikes, it's often metal that comes to mind. May we not forget that Sarto has long been mastering the art of custom carbon. This week we're excited to share our latest Sarto Lampo Plus, an Italian built aero road machine that pack some serious heat. Follow along as we break down the build.
The Lampo Frame
The Lampo Plus is Sarto's most aerodynamic offering with the most contemporary features. Integrated cable routing and clearance for 35c slicks make it as versatile as it is fast. Like all Sartos, this Lampo Plus is completely handbuilt, fully custom to the rider's fit specs. Finishing it all off is an absolutely stunning metallic blue-to-silver paint job.
An Integrated Cockpit
The Lampo Plus comes from Sarto as a complete frameset module. The stem, handlebar, and seatpost are all designed as a complete, integrated system with the Lampo frame. Collectively the front end provides for a unified system, both visually and functionally. The aero stem matches the shapes and scale of the Lampo frame while the cables all flow seamlessly internally. Keeping it all clean, the stem and post are paint-matched to the frame.
The Red AXS Transmission
The shifting is all handled by a Sram Red AXS system. 50/37 rings are mounted to a Quarq power meter with a 10-28 cassette out back. The rear derailleur has been outfitted with a Ceramicspeed OSPW system, while the crank spins on Ceramicspeed bearings as well. 160mm rotors keep the stopping powerful with excellent modulation.
Rolling Light
The bike rolls along on a set of Lightweight Meilenstein Evos. Fantastically responsive and wonderfully light, the iconic boutique wheels were an excellent fit for such a machine. The Lightweight Schwarz Edition wheels also feature Ceramicspeed bearings, keeping with the theme of rolling silky smooth. A set of 30c Vittoria Corsa Control TLR tires provide ample traction and well as a fast and smooth ride. Orange Seals keeps them nearly flat free.
Conclusion
All in, it's a sleek and speedy road machine with all the bells and whistles. A clean build with some of our favorite upgrades, provides a subtle stage for the beautiful blue paint to shine. We love building up these Sartos, and we're even more excited to see it out on the road. If a handbuilt, custom carbon road bike has been on your radar, feel free to drop us a line!
