If you've been keeping tabs on our social posts or made a visit to our studio in the last month or so, this week's featured bike might not come as a surprise. If you haven't, then we're excited to show you something new. We've quietly been building our relationship with Sarto over the last couple of months, getting bikes in to test and approve for ourselves, but today the cat comes out of the bag. We'll dive deeper on our partnership with the Italian custom builders in a post to come, but today, let's take a look at this Seta Plus build.
We touched on this bike in our previous post from the Enve Builders summit, but it's time we unveil the detailed build. We partnered with Sarto to build this one up special for the show. Custom paint, a Campagnolo EPS build, and a wheel and tire set up that might leave you scratching your head as to what exactly this bike is.
The Seta Plus is the epitome of the modern road bike. It rides and handles like a through and through road bike—sharp, snappy, and precise. Smooth, clean lines, made even cleaner with fully integrated cable routing. What gives it the "Plus" designation? Massive tire clearance, up to a measured 35c.
Sarto offers customized paint for every one of their bikes. We worked with their design team to come up with something that would stand out in the bike show, while remaining clean and classy. The result was the grayscale design here.
As the bike has integrated cabling, the bars and stem need to fulfill those needs too. For this build, we went with a front end from Ursus, using their cockpit they designed with Sarto specifically for this bike. The Ursus bars have a compact drop, a flat aero top section, and really nice compliance to them. The Ursus stem has an understated profile. Particularly normal looking compared to most other internally routed stems. The seatpost is a 27.2 Enve road post and holds a custom Fizik Antares saddle wrapped by Busyman in Australia.
For the drivetrain, it only made sense to keep things Italian. We took it all the way and built the bike up with full Campagnolo Super Record EPS. With 50x34 rings on a 172.5 crankset and 11-32 cassette, there's plenty of range for covering any terrain. 160mm rotors front and rear keep the speed modulation in check.
Versatility was a key theme on this bike, and we've found the 3.4 AR wheels to be the most versatile in the Enve line up. Striking the perfect balance between weight, aerodynamics, and responsiveness on the road, their wide cross section also makes them a great choice for wider, high volume tires.
We wanted to test the limits of what this bike could do, so we mounted up a set of 36c Challenge Strada Bianca tires. When first mounted, they fit just fine. After a few days though, they stretched out a bit, making clearance a bit... questionable. We probably wouldn't recommend this combo, but even with a slightly smaller tire, this road bike can easily moonlight as an impressively capable gravel bike.
A fast and smooth road bike that's equally comfortable jumping into a crit as it is a gravel grinder. We're thrilled to now have these bikes available. A fully customizable quiver killer with classic Italian flair.
