Description
We’ve logged enough miles on Orbis X to understand what makes it different. Baum built it for the space between control and chaos, where paved roads fade into gravel and the ride starts to get interesting. From the first pedal stroke, it carries the unmistakable feel of Baum’s road lineage, only stretched into something looser, more confident and infinitely more capable.
The geometry tells the story. A slacker head tube angle, shorter stem and wider bars create a front end that feels planted and predictable. Paired with room for 50 mm tires, Orbis X delivers the grip and traction to stay composed in light single track or on gravel descents while still rolling fast on the tarmac back home. It doesn’t force you to choose between efficiency and exploration. It simply rides beautifully everywhere.
Like Baum’s other custom-butted bikes, each Orbis X is designed around the individual cyclist’s riding profile, history, aspirations and style. Through our fitting and build process, every frame is tuned to the rider. Tube selection, geometry and handling refined to achieve a balance that feels both personal and exact.
What stands out to us most is how refined it feels despite that versatility. The 3D-printed yoke, internal brake routing and the way the welds seem to disappear into the finish all carry Baum’s signature restraint. Nothing feels overdone. It’s the kind of precision that invites trust, mile after mile.
