BOTW: Colombian Custom Creation in all the Colors

Julius Berith |

Remember those beautiful Pegoretti Bicycles from a couple of weeks ago, well the same couple were in need of travel bikes they could wheel all over the planet without being overly concerned for their safety. Having attended the AC invitational and seeing the colorful Colombian craftsmanship from Scarab, Heather knew exactly what she wanted.

After a little back and forth Heather chose the Letras, Scarab's super lightweight climbing frame-set which is crafted with a mix of Japanese Kaisei tubes on the front triangle and Columbus tubes on the rear triangle.  We also settled on rim brakes for simplicity they offer when traveling.

Heather worked directly with Scarab to make her vision a reality for a cosmic dip fade paint that's absolutely stunning. Every time you take another peak at this frame you find more fascinating details. The seatpost, stem, handlebar and the Silca frame pump painted to match.

Luckily for us Shimano still produces their Ultegra 8000 mechanical rim brake groupset that we paired with Cane Creek's EE brakes in the limited edition acid pink.

We are working on hand-building a custom set of carbon rim brake wheels with matching Silver Chris King hubs, so for the time being we installed Heather's Lightweight Meilenstein wheelset, an AC favorite, wrapped in Continental's GP5000 rubber and Pirelli TPU tubes.

And in the case of this build if you're going to be loud, be proud. We went with Silca's Ti cages in Unicorn colorway and our AC titanium hardware kit in a combination of oil-slick and silver. We absolutely love how this bike turned out. And can’t wait to hear about all the the amazing places Heather takes this little beauty.
