His and Hers Pegorettis
Most romantics know the first anniversary is a gift of paper and the fifth is wood. While the 7th and 8th are copper and bronze. What you probably didn’t know, and what Heather and David manifested, is that the 12th Anniversary is a gift of an all custom designed and built Pegoretti.
The couple from Southern California visited Above Category during our inaugural AC Invitational last year, and we started designing these two beautiful Italian beauties, to match their Ferraris.
Working hand-in-hand with the Pegoretti team, we have to admit that these are two of the nicest Responsoriums we have ever seen. And truthfully, we don’t need to qualify, these are just two absolutely beautiful bikes.
Paint and Design
For Heather: the Manovella graphic with Barbie Pink and Ferrari Modena Yellow to match her Ferrari F12
For David: Pegoretti's Ciavete one-off paint with Ferrari Verde Jewell as the base color to match his Ferrari 296 GTB.
To complement the paint we worked closely with:
Tomii Cycles to create custom one-off handmade stem caps with real opal jewels.
VeloColour to paint match the water bottle cages and pedal springs, as well as the stem and seat post for David.
Busyman on custom bar tape and saddle recovering - note the Ferrari shield on David's saddle giving a subtle nod to the brand.
Pegoretti to incorporate the colors of the custom stem caps into the Ciavete paint as well as the painted to match Silca floor pump.
Lightweight on custom one-off wheels, more on this below!
Drivetrain
For Her: Shimano's Dura Ace Di2 groupset with an SRM power meter and the usual cast of characters from CeramicSpeed.
For Him: Campagnolo's Super Record Wireless groupset with an SRM crankset and CeramicSpeed's coated bottom bracket.
Cockpit
For Her: Darimo handlebars, stem, seatpost and computer mount
For Him: Bjorn handlebars and seatpost, Extralite Hyperstem and computer mount
Wheelset
These were extraordinary, to say the least. Both are Lightweight's Obermayer EVO model.
For Her: one of Lightweight's rare custom one-offs, Barbie Pink to Modena Yellow fade.
For Him: the Lightweight Obermayer Platinum Edition limited to just 99 units globally.
We have no idea what Heather and Dave have planned for their 13th Anniversary, but just putting it out there, the team here at Above Category is here to help!
