First off, I want to give a heartfelt apology to everyone who got bumped off the list by me getting my bike on here. I love all the bikes that we’re fortunate enough to build on a yearly basis and wish we had enough days to get them all up. However, as it is, there are just 12 and mine is one of them and now I’m going to talk about it, in great detail, as we all love to do when talking about something of our own. Lucky for you all, we have limited space by design, so that isn’t going to happen here.
What can I say, I’d like to think so many people who helped my bike get here, Aaron and Phillip and all the other fine people at Mosaic Cycles in lovely Boulder, CO. Same with all the great guys and gals at SRAM, Shimano, Campagnolo, Fizik, Vittoria, Lightweight, EE (Cane Creek), SRM and Chris King. I want to thank my dietitian, shrink, barber but most of all my loving family who listened for hours after hour about why I preferred the Bora 50’s over the original wheels that came on the frame, but then how surprised I was at how good the newer generation Lightweight clinchers are. About how ashamed I was of having such a, what do the kids call it these days, a Frankenbike?
However, what most surprised me about 2018 is that I only got one new bike! This is a fantastic bike, one of my favorites as I’ve finally, after decades, honed in my ideal position. After I nailed the right components for the job, it descended, climbed and cruised as well as any I’ve had before. Also, it may be just me, but I think it’s pretty hot as well down to the custom powder coated King titanium bottle cages. I’m going to leave it here for now, as sometime soon into the new year we’ll be doing a long term test on this bike, so for now, enjoy the pictures and drop us a line and let us know what you think. Just be nice about all the mixed parts, that is still kind of sensitive for me…
