Details
Black Magik is what we use when we want the full performance of a top-tier hot wax—low friction, clean drivetrain, long wear life—but want it straight from a bottle. Rex took their Black Diamond formula (the same 11+1 blend we’ve trusted in block form) and turned it into a liquid using a wild emulsion process developed with the University of Helsinki. The result is something rare: a drip wax that actually competes with melt-on systems.
We've run it on road, gravel and wet winter miles in Marin, and it’s held up without buildup or squeak. It goes on easy, dries to a hard, dry finish, and can be topped off without degreasing or full resets. Just wipe, drip, and let it cure overnight. It’s also fully compatible with hot wax setups—meaning you can switch back and forth without scrubbing your chain.
If you’re already hot waxing, this is the best top-up we’ve found. If you’re not, this is the closest thing you’ll get from a bottle.
