Say you wanted to build the ultimate modern road bike—lightweight, streamlined design, ample clearance for high volume tires, and integrated cabling. There's no shortage of options out there these days, but say you wanted to have all of that that in a carbon platform with a perfectly tailored custom fit... and you wanted full personalization of the colors and graphics. That changes the game a little bit.
Luckily we've found the perfect solution for all of those needs in the Sarto Seta Plus, and this week we're proud to showcase our latest build. Built to tackle the the mountainous terrain of Southern California, it's one our hottest Sarto builds yet.
Clean lines, plenty of tire clearance, and a sublime ride make the Seta Plus one of our favorite bikes in the line up. This one came out absolutely stunning with the matte carbon finish and glossy red, silver, and gunmetal grey accents. More and more, the future of performance road bikes is moving toward full cable and component integration. While Sarto is far from the first company embracing this direction, we don't know of anyone else doing it on fully custom carbon bikes.
Full internal cabling is enabled by the carbon Ursus cockpit, custom designed for the Sarto Seta plus. The bars have a modern compact bend, semi aero flat top section, and an nice compliant feel. The bars are outfitted with Fizik tape for grip, a Spurcycle bell for safety, and a Wahoo Roam GPS unit for navigation and checking stats. At the rear, a Selle Italia SLR saddle is supported by a paint matched Deda seatpost.
The transmission is all Shimano. Nearly a full Dura-Ace Di2 build, with the exception on the Ultegra RX rear derailleur and 11-34t cassette (Shimano, please make a DA level RX derailleur!). The cranks are the powermeter version of the DA cranks.
As smooth as the Shimano stuff is, every bike can benefit from help with Ceramicspeed bearings. The cranks and rear derailleur both get the treatment.
A bike of this caliber deserves to roll on the best. While designating something as the best is subjective, Lightweight Meilensteins are undeniably worthy of such a claim. Especially the premium Schwarz edition. The new 24mm wide models are perfect for high volume tires like the 32c Continental GP5000.
Fast, light, smooth, and sexy, this Sarto is ready to hit the streets. What do you think? Does a bike like this land high on your wish list? If you've got any questions on getting a Seta Plus build going for yourself, give us a shout and we'll gladly help guide you along the way.
