I was asked to post this weeks BOTW mostly because Zio is allowing me to ride it, extensively, and I won’t shut up about it. I’ll save the bulk of my thoughts for another post, and use this one to give a quick rundown of this gorgeous frame and the parts that adorn it.
Aside from the unparalleled ride quality, you have to appreciate Darren’s quality control.
Zio opted for the Barbados Green base coat for his Corretto in what they call the ‘GTR Solid’ paint scheme, which is a simplified version of the outstanding GTR scheme that is so widely being copied these days. If you’ve never seen a Baum up close and personal, the paint can only be described as second to none. It’s vibrant, smooth, and free of imperfections. Aside from the unparalleled ride quality his frames are so well know for, you have to appreciate Darren’s quality control.
The build on this Corretto is outstanding. The internally routed Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 keeps everything clean with sharp and sophisticated tones they’re so good at producing. The Enve Composites 6.7’s, though stiff, mate well to the Ti frame that works so well at soaking up that road chatter. An Enve post and stem finished in the same Barbados Green marry the frame with the Fizik Kurve saddle and Deda Newton traditional-bend aluminum bar.
Enjoy!
