This customer walked into the AC studio to inquire about an insulated vest that would help to keep him warm on the cold mornings here in Sausalito. As he's a local, we've run into each other multiple times and have slowly become friends over the last few months.
When it came time to talk about a new bike, we explored his wants and needs. We did a bike fit and worked closely with Scarab Cycles to ensure the bike would be engineered just right, given his position and fit.
Careful considerations were made as he has some health challenges, so we chose components like electronic shifting and ergonomic handlebars to make gear shifts and general riding easier.
For design, our client fell in love with Santiago Toro's own Letras, so we opted for the same scheme, albeit adapted to his initials. Following delivery and initial ride feedback, I'm happy to report the ride is just as we envisioned.
I'm personally grateful for this build as we were able to not only create a beautiful bike but also a community within. That's the eternally wonderful thing about bikes; they allow you to connect with others regardless of age, gender, wealth, or health. When you see a beautiful bike, friendships are made.
