We initially had this bike built for the ENVE Grodeo, and while it looked great, we decided to freshen it up and take it to the next level. Enter our friends at VeloColour in Toronto with the brief to do something cool. No hand holding required with those guys - we trust them with our rides. They came up with a deep purple scheme that goes from plum to brown to bronze with some blue accents that really pop in the light. We wanted a beautiful, classy-looking frame, and thanks to our friends in the north, it turned out pretty awesome.
On a whim, we threw on some hand-built wheels using gold White Industry hubs (from just up the road in farm country) and silver spokes which really help the paint to pop even more. We topped the wheels off with Vittoria N.Ext tubeless tires in a fat 34mm configuration, which is all the rage these days. Having ridden this combo on my own Sarto Seta Plus, I can confirm it gets the job done. Plush but fast. As the cherry on a plum cake, we threw in a smattering of gold bits, just enough to catch the eye but not too much to overwhelm everything else.
