On tap this week is a no nonsense all-roader, built straight up to get the job done. Designed for a tall guy in need a bike that can do it all. From daily commuting, to big days on the road, to full on gravel abuse, this Mosaic GT-1 is ready to deliver—all with complete disregard for what the weather has to say.
There's nothing like the timeless beauty of a raw titanium frame. Of course, it helps when it comes from builders with as much skill and attention to detail as the crew at Mosaic. With it's curvy stays, thru-axle dropouts and oversized tubes, the GT-1 is the perfect model to showcase their handiwork.
The drive train is a proven Sram mechanical 1x system. The shifters, crankset, and callipers are all Red. Being a 1x build with a wide range cassette, we went with a Force derailleur out back.
Sram and titanium themes continue on at the cockpit. Up front is a Zipp Service Course SL bar and stem, wrapped in tacky Fizik endurance tape and topped of with a ti Spurcycle bell. The rear we went with a custom Mosaic titanium seapost, something we don't spec nearly enough. Atop it sits a Fizik Antares Evo saddle.
It's hard to imagine a more perfect wheel for this bike than the Zipp 303. Versatile and no shortage of performance. Visually, the depth of the 303 sits perfectly in a bike of this stature and the tubeless compatibility are a must for a multi disciplinary steed. In it's current state, it's riding on a set of IRC 28c tubeless road slicks. In this configuration it's super fast on the road an also allows for full length fenders in the wet season. However, the bike is ready to fit full size knobs when the day calls for an off road excursion.
A bike ready for daily abuse, from everyday commuting to the weekend mixed terrain adventure. A sleeper at a glance, but up close it reveals there's no shortage of quality and performance on tap.
