This week we bring you a seasonally-apropos (because #cobblesarecoming) Trek Domane RSL. With its pure race bike geometry, tuned ride, and enormous tire clearance, it's a true evolution from "pavé" bikes of the past. Take a deeper look as we dive into this custom-built and custom Project One-painted Trek racing machine.
Definitely unlike any other Roubiax-themed bike we've ever seen. The ISOSpeed decouplers in the front and back provide plenty of compliance for the roughest of roads but still allow for the fit and stiffness of a Grand Tour race bike. Translation? No need to compromise an aggressive position to get a smooth, fast ride.
The bike runs on a Dura-Ace Di2 drive train. Of course, crank is supplemented with an SRM and - for the eagle-eyed - the rear derailleur gets a little hop-up kit of its own.
Keeping things rolling are a custom set of wheels built with the all-new wide Corima WS 32 rims and Chris King R45 hubs. Silver spokes to keep it all classy and red nipples to tie it all together. Naturally, tan-walled Vittoria rubber was the choice.
Topping off the build are some nice details. fi'zi:k cockpit up front, with a custom-matched fi'zi:k Antares saddle. eeCycleworks brakes, and TIME pedals.
There it is - a beautiful Trek Domane RSL ready to take on roads of all sorts, and as fast as the pilot can push it.
