S-Works

The S-Works program began in the early nineties as an internal research and development program for Specialized Bicycles focused on racing products. The debut S-Works product was the 1992 S-Works Epic, a 2.6-pound frame raced by "The Captain" Ned Overend made from a futuristic combination of carbon fiber tubing and TIG welded junctures. Then, in the early noughties, the S-Works program moved into the road world with the S-Works E5 road bike, and roadies everywhere lost their collective minds

As the S-Works program evolved, so have the products that carry the name. Today, S-Works is emblazoned upon any Specialized halo product, whether bicycle frames, shoes, helmets, etc. The lion's share of those products still focuses on racing performance and an elevated rider experience.

We have been quietly riding various S-Works products for a while now. In true Above Category fashion, we will focus solely on S-Works frames and products that we feel genuinely reflect the spirit of AC and bring the biggest benefit to our riders.
