The Open WI.DE is known for its ability to put down power efficiently and handle like a road bike, all while smoothing out the worst washboard gravel roads you can think of.
To give this particular WI.DE a planted and controlled feel, we opted for the wide, light and well-damped Zipp 101 XPLR wheels. Zipp’s MOTO technology allows the 101 XPLR rims to give just enough to take the edge off your local singletrack’s rocks and roots to let your tires maintain traction and control. As for the tires, we have specced the René Herse Umtanum Ridge 650x55 (2.2” tires for you mountain bikers out there), which allow you to roll over pretty much anything in your way.
The drivetrain is a Sram Force AXS Mullet one-by setup that pairs a Force 1 crank with a Sram XX1 Eagle AXS derailleur moving the Sram Eagle chain across a Sram 1275 Eagle 10-50 cassette for wireless, durable and dependable shifting no matter what the terrain. The Enve cockpit finishes things off with an Enve Carbon Road Stem paired with a gravel-friendly SES AR Road bar featuring flared drops and a semi-aero profile for increased speed, control and comfort. This bike is available today in-store and online at Above Category.
