March Shop Ride: A Proper Tam Gravel Loop

Brennan Wertz |

For this weekend's AC shop ride, we'll push off from Equator Coffee in Sausalito towards Mill Valley, shaking things loose with a mellow climb to Four Corners via the Pixie Trail. After descending into Muir Woods, we will climb the Deer Park Fire Road to Pantoll. From there, we will meander along Seven Sisters before darting into the woods for the long and sinuous descent down Rocky Ridge Fire Road. After enjoying this descent, we will wind our way through the lakes on the north side of Tam before we loop around the mountain's eastern flank back to Mill Valley. We will finish things off with a pleasant cruise along the bike path back to Sausalito.

While the stats for this ride may not be the most massive, the technical climbs do certainly pack a punch. We will ride at a conversational pace, with a few regrouping points along the route. Looking forward to riding with everyone on Sunday!

What to Bring: Please come prepared with a functioning gravel bike, adequate snacks for the outing, and a repair kit should you need it. I will most likely be on my Mosaic GT-1 45 with 42c Rene Herse knobbies and sub 1:1 gearing.
